諄 —

武田氏は後に甲斐源氏の中心氏族となるが、武田姓の名乗りに関しては父の義清は常陸国において既に名乗っていたと言われ（志田諄一『勝田市史』、検討の余地も指摘される）、甲斐武田氏の祖となる清光の子信義が武田八幡宮（山梨県韮崎市）において元服した際に称したと言われる。

The Takeda family, which is later to become the central force in the Kai-Genji clan, reportedly had the name first claimed by his father Yoshikiyo in Hitachi Province (according to "The History of Katsuta City" by Junichi SHIDA, although there is room for further study) and was used by Kiyomitsu's son Nobuyoshi, the founder of Kai-Takeda clan, to mark his genpuku, the attainment of manhood ceremony, which was held at Takeda Hachimangu Shrine (Nirasaki City, Yamanashi Prefecture).

彼に諄々(じゅんじゅん)と道理を説いてその企てを放棄させた. We reasoned him out of [into giving up] his scheme.彼は諄々と説いて彼女の愚かさを悟らせようとした. He tried patiently to talk her out of her silly ideas.同年9月に円満院に入り、出家し覚諄入道親王を名乗る。

He entered Enman-in Temple in September of the same year, and became a priest and was called Imperial Prince and Monk Kakujun.

法親王は幕末まで皇室と縁の深い門跡の任を務める役割を果たしていたが、明治時代初頭、明治維新がはじると僧籍の皇族は次々に還俗し、仁和寺宮純仁法親王が小松宮彰仁親王、輪王寺宮公現法親王が北白川宮能久親王、知恩院宮尊秀法親王が華頂宮博経親王、梶井宮覚諄入道親王が後に梨本宮守脩親王として世俗に戻るなどして、明治以降は僧籍の親王はいなくなり、法親王の呼称も用いられなくなった。

Hoshinno played the part of Monzeki (a temple at which the head priest had always been a member of the imperial family or nobility) that had a deep connection with the imperial court until the end of the Edo period, the last days of the Tokugawa shogunate, but at the beginning of the Meiji Restoration, the imperial family resigned from the priesthood one after the other, and Ninnajinomiya Sumihito Hoshinno became secular again as Imperial Prince Komatsunomiya Akihito, Rinnojinomiya Kogen Hoshinno as Imperial Prince Kitashirakawanomiya Yoshihisa, Chioninnomiya Sonshu Hosshinno as Imperial Prince Kachonomiya Hirotsune and Kajiinomiya Kakujun Nyudo Shinno as Imperial Prince Nashimotonomiya Moriosa, and as a result from the Meiji period, Shinno who had become a priest, disappeared and the title Hoshinno was no longer used.
