Start with a short vocabulary exercise. If reading the kana takes most of your effort, practise the kana first, then return to the questions.

  1. Attempt one exercise before opening its answers. Write down any answer you guessed so a lucky choice does not hide a gap.
  2. Check the answer and any explanation provided. Classify each mistake as a word, grammar pattern, reading detail or listening detail.
  3. Review the relevant material, then try a different exercise in the same skill. Revisit missed questions later to check what you retained.
