斜行刃型の爪切りでは巻き爪のように爪長方向の途中の太くて硬い爪を切断するには剪断力が顕在化することに伴って困難である点、及び直進刃型の爪切りでは爪の先端から切断箇所へ送るために、巻き爪の肉に食い込んだ該先端を切断箇所へ送ることができない点を解消する。
