棺 — coffin, casket

遺体を棺に納める儀式。

This is a rite for placing the body in a coffin.

供給は需要によって定まる. Demand determines supply.棺をおおうて事定まる. Call no man great before he is dead.棺をおおうて事定まる. A man's true worth is known only when he is laid to rest.人間のありようは食物によって定まる. A man is what he eats.この段階で「刃渡り」と「区」（まち）が定まる。

In this step, 'Hawatari (length of the blade) and the 'Machi (notch)' is determined.
