初めの月は大変でした。店で買い物をする時、店の人の言葉が速くて、分かりませんでした。地図を見ても、道が分かりませんでした。
でも、毎日少しずつ練習しました。朝は新しい言葉を十覚えて、夜はそれをノートに書きました。分からない漢字は、辞書で見ました。
今は、友達と日本語で話すことができます。買い物も一人でできます。難しい漢字はまだ多いですが、去年より上手になりました。
先生は「よく勉強しましたね」と言ってくれました。その言葉を今も覚えています。来年は、日本語の本を一冊読みたいです。

I am a student from another country. It has already been a year since I came to Japan. I am studying Japanese at a school in Tokyo now.
The first month was hard. When I went shopping, the people in the shops spoke fast and I did not understand. Even when I looked at a map, I did not know the way.
But I practiced a little every day. In the morning I learned ten new words, and at night I wrote them in a notebook. I looked up the kanji I did not know in a dictionary.
Now I can talk with my friends in Japanese. I can do my shopping on my own too. There are still many difficult kanji, but I have become better than last year.
My teacher said to me, "You have studied hard." I still remember those words.
