海鼠腸 (このわた, Konowata) is Konowata — a Japanese food (viscera).
What is Konowata?
Konowata is a local specialty of the area around Nagasaki. It is made from salted guts of sea cucumbers. " Ko " (海鼠[?] is the old name for the species, " no " is a connecting particle, and " wata " (腸) means "guts". The gut and gonads are removed, washed, and salted.
