黄昏たそがれ (tasogare)

私わたしはたそがれの海うみが大好だいすきです

I love the sea at dusk.

われわれの文明ぶんめいの黄昏たそがれに。

We find ourselves in the twilight of our civilization.

「四六時中」の語源は、四時（早晨・午時・晡時・黄昏）と六時をあわせたもの。

The word 'shirokujichu' (meaning all the time) is derived from the four times of the day known as 'shiji' (early morning, noon, late afternoon and dusk) in combination with the six times of the day known as 'rokuji.'

というわけで、ひんやりした黄昏の下、ぼくらは死に向かって車を走らせていた。

So we drove on toward death through the cooling twilight.

小書院は黄昏の間が主室で、二畳敷の上段の間があり、そこに床と書院を設けている。

The main Kojoin room is Tasogare no ma (literally, "room of twilight"), where there is Jodan no ma of two jo with toko and shoin.

特に黄昏の間と富士の間の境の欄間には、菊の紋様を彫り込んだユニークなものである。

Especially the transom between Tasogare no ma and Fuji no ma has a uniquely designed and carved Chrysanthemum pattern.

「黄昏の間」の床の間脇にある棚は多種類の木材を組み合わせたもので「曼殊院棚」として知られる。

The tana at the side of tokonoma of 'Tasogare no ma' is made with several kinds of wood, and is known as 'Manshuin Temple-dana.'

「富士の間」「黄昏の間」境の欄間の透かし彫りや、七宝焼き製の釘隠し（富士山をかたどる）もこの建物の特色である。

The fretwork of ranma (transom) at the border of 'Fuji no ma' and 'Tasogare no ma' and kugikakushi (object which conceals the head of nail) with cloisonne ware, are also the characteristics of this construction.

黄昏の間の次の間が八畳の富士の間で、その西に一畳台目の茶室を設け、黄昏の間の裏手には、八窓席と呼ぶ茶室を付属させている。

The next room of Tasogare no ma is the Fuji no ma (literally, "room of Mt. Fuji"), in the west of which there is a tea room of ichijo-daime (three-quarter size of tatami), and at the back of Tasogare no ma a tea room called Hasso no seki (a tea room at Konchi-in of Nanzen-ji Temple) is attached.

そして黄昏（たそがれ）の影があたりに迫ってくるころ、ようやく憂鬱（ゆううつ）なアッシャー家の見えるところへまで来たのであった。

and at length found myself, as the shades of the evening drew on, within view of the melancholy House of Usher.

ぼくは黄昏どきの静かな戸外に出て東のほう、公園あたりまで散歩したかったのだけど、そうしようとするたびにぼくは声高に戦わされる無茶苦茶な議論に巻きこまれ、ロープで引っ張られるようにして椅子にもどされた。

I wanted to go out into the quiet outdoors at dusk and take a walk east toward the park, but each time I tried to go, I got caught up in some wild, loud argument which pulled me back into my chair as if with ropes.
