民俗みんぞく (minzoku)

I investigated the folk customs of Finland.

これを選択無形民俗文化財ともいう。

They are also called "selected intangible folk cultural properties."

日本の民俗文化財は民俗文化財有形民俗文化財と民俗文化財無形民俗文化財に大別される。

Folk-cultural properties in Japan are roughly categorized into folk-cultural properties tangible folk-cultural properties and folk-cultural properties intangible folk-cultural properties.

また、文部科学大臣は、風俗慣習、民俗芸能、民俗技術などの無形の民俗文化財のうち特に重要なものを重要無形民俗文化財に指定することができる（第78条第1項）。

Among the intangible folk cultural properties (such as folk customs, public entertainments and traditional skills), the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology can designate the ones judged to be especially important as "important intangible folk cultural properties" (Article 78, Clause 1).

予祝芸能行事としては、東京都板橋区にのこる板橋の田遊びや和歌山県かつらぎ町花園の花園の御田舞（ともに重要無形民俗文化財）が、年頭や小正月におこなわれるものとしては古い形態をよくとどめている。

Among events of Yoshuku Geino (Preliminary Celebration), Taasobi (ritual Shinto performance to pray for a good rice-crop for the year) handed down in Itabashi Ward, Tokyo and Hanazono no Ondamai (the rice field dance in Hanazono) performed in Hanazono, Katsuragi-cho, Wakayama Prefecture (both being designated as Important Intangible Property of Folk Culture) retain the old forms as an event held at New Year or Lunar New Year.
