特に貴い神に「尊」、それ以外の神に「命」の字を用いている。

The character used to rite "mikoto" is the character for 'exalted' for paricularly sacred kami, and the character for 'order' for other kami.

特に貴い神には大神（おおかみ）・大御神（おおみかみ）の神号がつけられる。

For particularly exalted kami, the shingo "Okami" or Omikami" is used.
