How to tell them apart
のに expresses simple contrast against expectation and is neutral, usable about people, things, or situations. くせに carries the speaker's contempt, anger, or blame toward someone's action or state, so it sounds judgmental and is mainly aimed at another person. Swapping them is unnatural when the subject is an object or yourself, since 高いのに美味しくない is fine but 高いくせに美味しくない sounds odd, and くせに implies criticism of a person's behavior.

くせに kuseni
Even though, despite the fact that
くせに attaches to plain-form verbs, i-adjectives, and nouns (na-adjectives take な) and links two clauses with a critical, blaming tone: the second clause goes against what the first states. It often appears at the end of a sentence in casual speech and carries a stronger reproach than neutral 'although'.
