There was a white cat in a small town. Every day the cat slept on the bridge over the river. The people of the town liked the cat, but the cat had no home.
One day it rained from the morning. The cat went under a tree, but its body turned cold. It was very cold, and the cat cried.
Just then a girl came along. She was carrying a blue umbrella. "Will you come to my house?" she said, and looked at the cat.
The cat walked along with the girl. The girl's house was near the station, and the garden was wide.
The girl's mother gave the cat some milk. The cat drank it and felt well again.
The cat lives in that house with the girl now. Even on rainy days it is not cold any more.
