Meaning & usage
か presents two or more alternatives when asking someone to choose one, meaning A or B. Attach か directly after each noun alternative, as in パンかごはんか, and follow it with a question about the choice such as どちら or いつ. It is different from the sentence ending question か, so both items need か in basic noun lists, though the second か is omitted before a particle like で in 電車かバスで.
