Meaning & usage

The particle か turns a question into an embedded clause, so a phrase like 行くかどうか means 'whether we go or not' and can serve as the object of verbs such as 決める or 教える. It follows plain-form verbs and adjectives, and with nouns or na-adjectives かどうか is typically used, as in 信用できるかどうか.
