ながら（も） (nagara mo)

Meaning & usage

ながら expresses that two actions happen at the same time by the same person, meaning while or as. It attaches to the masu-stem of a verb, as in 歩きながら or 歌いながら, with the main action coming after it. Adding も, as in 知りながらも, adds a concessive meaning like although or in spite of that, often for an unexpected or contradictory situation.
