Meaning & usage
同士 expresses that two or more people or things share the same category and relate to each other as fellow members, often translated as fellow or among each other. It attaches directly to a noun that names the shared group, as in 友達同士, 夫婦同士, or 車同士. It is neutral in style and can be used for people and things, but the noun before it must name the common kind rather than a single individual.
