Meaning & usage
来 is the verb 来る (to come), used in both polite and plain forms such as 来ません, 来た and 来られました. It appears in patterns like ～に来た to express coming for a purpose, as in 迎えに来た. It can also follow nouns, as in しっくり来ない, meaning something does not feel right or match well.
