から (kara)

Meaning & usage

The particle から marks a starting point or source, attaching directly to a noun, as in あなたから or どこから. It can also follow a plain-form verb or adjective to give a reason, meaning because, as in 行きたくないからだよ. It works in both casual and formal speech.
