Meaning & usage
The particle の turns a clause or question word phrase into a noun-like element, so it can be the object of verbs like 分かる. It also appears in casual questions such as どうかしたの？ and in wishes like 行けたらいいのに, where it adds a soft, conversational tone. It follows plain-form verbs and adjectives, or な after na-adjectives and nouns.
