たりたりする (taritarisuru)

Meaning & usage

たり～たりする presents two or more actions or states as representative examples of a larger set, often translated as doing things like X and Y. It attaches to the past tense short form, as in 飲んだり, 寒かったり, and 静かだったり, followed by する at the end to close the list. The final する can be conjugated for tense or politeness, and the list implies there are other unstated activities beyond those mentioned.
