Used in comparisons to mean 'than'; also 'rather than' or 'more than what exists now'
Meaning & usage
より marks the standard of comparison, meaning 'than': the item before it is what something is compared against. It follows nouns, as in トニーより and 明日よりも, often with も added for emphasis. It can also mean 'rather than', as in それをするより.
