Meaning & usage
で follows a noun to show where an action takes place, as in ボストンで買った, or what means is used to do something, as in バスで学校に行きます. It attaches directly to the noun without any change to the noun itself. Be careful not to confuse it with に, which marks the place where something exists or the destination of movement rather than the place of an action.
