ので (node)

Meaning & usage

ので gives a reason in the sense of since or because, presenting the cause as background for what follows. It attaches to the plain form of verbs and i-adjectives, as in 降ったので and 寒いので, and to nouns and na-adjectives with な, as in 日曜日なので and 静かなので. It sounds softer and more polite than から, so it is common in polite explanations and requests.

   It rained heavily, so the playground is muddy.

2. すっぴんは恥ずかしいのであまり見ないで下さい。
