ても (temo)

Meaning & usage

ても expresses that a result still holds regardless of the condition, often translated as even if or no matter. Attach mo to the te-form of verbs like 行っても, to the kute-form of i-adjectives like 高くても, and to de for nouns, na-adjectives and question words like 雨でも, 静かでも and いつでも. It is neutral for speech and writing, and with question words it forms broad no matter phrases followed by a firm conclusion.
