Meaning & usage

でも after a noun can mean even or even when, presenting an extreme case to show that the result is the same. It can also soften a noun to mean or something like that, or whatever, showing a casual attitude. With question words like 何でも, 誰でも, and いつでも, it means anything, anyone, and anytime, expressing no exception. Particles such as に, へ, and と stay before でも, as in 何にでも and 誰とでも, while が and を are dropped.
