Meaning & usage
のはだ turns a clause into the topic with の and then comments on it with だ, creating a cleft sentence that highlights what comes before だ, as in こんなことをやれるのは今だけだ. The clause before のは is in plain form, and verbs may take というのは when quoted or named.
