Meaning & usage
ように describes how an action is performed by comparing it to something else, meaning like or as. It attaches to nouns with の, as in 先生のように, to plain verbs, and directly to demonstratives, as in このように and そのように. A common mistake is dropping の after nouns, so check that nouns always take のように when describing manner.
