Meaning & usage
The verb する can express cost when it follows a price, amount of time, or other quantity. A pattern like 三千円する or 三時間する means that item costs that price or that activity takes that amount. The quantity comes directly before する with no particle, and する conjugates normally, with します as the polite present and しました as the polite past. In conversation します sounds polite and neutral for stating prices or durations.
