過ぎる・すぎる (giru sugiru)

Meaning & usage

すぎる attaches to a verb masu-stem or an i-adjective/negative stem to show that something is done or is in a state to an excessive degree. It is also used in the pattern 〜しすぎることはない after a masu-stem, meaning one cannot do something too much.
