Meaning & usage
から states a reason for what follows, meaning because or so, with the reason clause coming before から and the result after it. It attaches to the plain form, such as 行きたくないから and 寒いから, while nouns and na-adjectives need だ, as in 女の子だから, and だから can start a sentence to mean so or therefore. In polite speech it becomes からです, and the reason clause can stand alone as a complete answer.
