すぐ (sugu)

Meaning & usage

すぐ means something happens right away or a very short time after something else. It typically appears as すぐに before a verb, and can follow phrases like a verb in plain form or a noun with 後 to mark the point after which the action occurs quickly. It is neutral in register and common in both speech and writing.
