ように (youni)

Meaning & usage

ように follows verbs (plain form) and is used to mean 'so that' or 'in order to' something happens, as in asking someone to make sure the birds get food every day. It also appears after verbs to mean 'as if' or 'like', describing how something seems or appears, such as looking like someone is working hard.
