という風に (toiu ni)

Meaning & usage

という風に presents the content of a phrase as a manner or way of putting things, meaning roughly "in such a way that" or "like this." It follows a plain-form clause, and という風に can also follow a noun phrase to introduce examples, as in listing cities or pairings with "and so on."
