Meaning & usage
並み expresses that something is equal to or on the same level as the noun before it, often used to compare skill, quality, or quantity to a standard like a professional level or a yearly average. It attaches directly to a noun, as in プロ並み or 平年並み, and is followed by だ for a predicate, に when modifying a verb, and の when modifying a noun. It is neutral in tone and used in both speech and writing.
