A clause placed inside a sentence to modify a noun (intermediate level patterns)
Meaning & usage
A relative clause is a whole sentence placed directly before a noun to describe it, with no connecting word: the clause ends in plain form and the noun follows immediately. The subject inside the clause is often marked with が rather than は. It works like an adjective, as in 太らないお菓子 or 心が静まる音楽.
