Meaning & usage
は marks the topic of a sentence and shows what the rest of the statement is about. It follows a noun phrase directly, as in 私は, or follows case particles such as には, では, or とは. It is a neutral and very basic N5 structure, not a special stress on the predicate, so avoid reading every は as strong emphasis in English.
