Meaning & usage
Nに加えて means in addition to N and is used to add another fact or circumstance on top of what was already stated. It follows a noun with the particle に, as in 仕事に加えて or 寒さに加えて, and the added information comes in the main clause after it. It is formal and common in writing, speeches and business Japanese, so avoid using bare 加えて at the start of a sentence without a noun plus に.
