Meaning & usage
には marks the purpose, person, or standard behind a judgment about necessity, difficulty, time, or value. It is used to state what is required in order to do something, or to show that an evaluation holds for a particular person or case. It follows the dictionary form of a verb, as in マスターするには, or a noun, as in 老人には, and the は limits the claim to that purpose or viewpoint.
