点（で） (de)

点で marks the specific aspect or respect in which a statement holds, meaning in terms of that point or in that regard. It follows a noun with の, as in 品質の点で, follows demonstratives or quantifiers like この点で and いくつかの点で, and follows a plain clause with という, as in 能力が高いという点で. It is neutral in register and common in comparisons, agreement, and evaluation, where it narrows a broad judgment to one criterion.
