Meaning & usage
といったところだ gives a rough estimate or evaluation, meaning about that amount or at best that level. It is used when the speaker cannot state an exact figure or wants to cap an evaluation modestly. It follows a noun phrase expressing quantity, price, or quality, as in 二十人といったところだ or 平均的といったところだ, and ends with だ, です, or だった for politeness and tense. It sounds measured and slightly reserved, so it is common in reports and self assessment.
