などと (nadoto)

Meaning & usage

などと (often appearing as などという or などとは) presents a quoted idea or example and downplays it, frequently in negatives like 思っていない or 存在しない. It follows a plain-form clause, a noun, or a phrase plus という, marking the content as 'such a thing as...'.
