と言えば (to eba)

Meaning & usage

と言えば introduces a topic with the sense of speaking of or when it comes to, then adds a comment, memory, or question linked to it. It follows a noun or noun phrase directly, as in エジプトといえば or 音楽といえば, without は before と. It is common in conversation to shift to an associated idea, and the following clause often gives information the listener may not expect.
