Meaning & usage
わけだ draws a conclusion from what has just been said, marking that something now makes sense: 'that's why' or 'no wonder'. It follows plain-form verbs and adjectives, and na-adjectives or nouns plus な. It often appears in the set phrase そういうわけだ, 'such being the case'.
