Meaning & usage
甲斐 (also written かい or がい) attaches to a verb's masu-stem or a noun to say that an action is worth the effort, as in する甲斐がある. It typically appears in the patterns 甲斐がある (it is worth doing) and 甲斐がない (it is not worth doing).
