それでも (soredemo)

Meaning & usage

それでも means even so or nevertheless and introduces a statement that holds true despite the situation mentioned before it. It is a standalone conjunction placed at the start of a sentence or clause, often after a contrast with が, and it does not conjugate or attach to a specific verb or noun form. It is neutral and used in both speech and writing, often followed by a comma as in それでも、行きたい.
