わけがない (wakeganai)

Meaning & usage

わけがない expresses strong denial, meaning something is impossible or there is no way it could be true. It follows plain-form verbs and い-adjectives, な-adjectives plus な, and nouns plus な or の. The tone is emphatic and works in both casual and formal speech.
