Meaning & usage
やる works as an auxiliary verb meaning to do something for someone, often with the speaker aware that the action affects or inconveniences that person. It attaches to the te-form of a verb, as in 助けてやる, and can also appear as a plain verb meaning simply to do, as in やる事. The tone is casual.
