Meaning & usage
ことはない expresses that there is no need to do something, often used to reassure the listener that an action is unnecessary in the current situation. It follows the dictionary form of a verb, as in 謝ることはない or 行くことはない. It has a calm, reassuring tone in conversation and should not be used to give strong prohibitions.
