Meaning & usage
わけだ expresses a conclusion that naturally follows from known facts, often with a sense of realization like no wonder or so that means. It attaches to the plain form of verbs and i-adjectives, while na-adjectives and nouns take なわけだ or というわけだ, with ってわけだ as a casual spoken form. It is common with expressions like 道理で and the final だ becomes です in polite speech.
