ながら（も） (nagara mo)

Meaning & usage

ながら attaches to the masu-stem of a verb and shows two actions happening at the same time, with the main action coming after ながら. The optional も (ながらも) adds a contrastive feel, like doing something while remaining in a certain state. It is used in both casual and formal contexts.
