Meaning & usage

だけで shows that one action or thing alone is sufficient or is the only means used, often to say nothing more is needed. It follows a noun, as in フランス語だけで, or a verb in plain dictionary or ta form, as in サインするだけで or 待つだけで. It is neutral in speech and writing, but learners should keep the で because だけ alone only marks amount and does not convey means.
